Playhouse of the Universe is the long awaited full length CD from the Wild Band of Snee. Featuring 11 wildly beautiful compositions by Grammy nominated cellist Rushad Eggleston, this album defies categorization and mangles expectations. Imagine that you fell through a hole into a strange but friendly dimension. Hundreds of excited horned, snouted, and feathered beasts such as snorblebees, grumblefish, and h-hosquiadors are milling around anxiously in the glowing moonlight. You look up and follow the tarmibly trees as they shoot upwards for thousands of feet, up to the Treeland Wood-Dwelling Societies of the True North. Suddenly some sounds alight in the air...you watch, as bunches of fine polka-dotted beings start spinning out melodies on their great grumbling gricktaphones, joined soon by vast barkobeest mooing orchestras of grenter-hoably zoabwinoan! The sound is spectacular! All the beasts and thumpers there (including you) start jumping about and dancing wildly, like fire, like carrots, like floating clouds of zorble-grass! Fast songs of far i-moogeny. Slow songs of ancient regal majesty. You are beside yourself. Yes, there's two of you. You both forgot about Earth and all it's silly games- instead, here you are getting down with the snee-land vibes! Alright! Such?... Such is the legacy of the Wild Band of Snee. When the Band of Snee plays on Earth, however, it is condensed to a practical version, including such familiar instruments as cello, piano, bass, and voices. Jed Wilson (Gee Horiark) is the pianist, with ears and brain and touch like no other. His playing has been known to bring tigers to tears. Jacob Silver (the Man of Jark) is the double bass player, who thumps, growls and moans as if he himself were a bass. 'I AM a bass-line!', he once remarked....... Aoife O'Donovan (Mrs. Hoogamus) is the singer, whose crystalline, unfettered voice has climbed clouds to tell secrets to fairies and has also petrified frogs. She is an expert at conveying to people the sometimes-odd language of the Snee lands... The band of snee now has a wild hairy drummer, too!! His name is Robin MacMillan (First Mate Bugzwait) and he lurks deep in lopey beats and makes the wild boogie come into existence! Rushad (Le Snark de Marquez) is the leader of the band; it is he who writes the music and words. The Wild Band of Snee does a mixture of sneaky melodic instrumental and vocal music, as well as some fast rhythmical poetry and other weirdnesses. They are fun. YOU should see them Note: Aoife O'Donovan and Rushad Eggleston are ALSO members of Crooked Still, and Jacob Silver is a member of The Mammals.
