Tom Hanford is a musician, visual artist and teacher who has been featured as a children's performer at numerous festivals, first night celebrations, and historic sites in the northeast, including The Winterhawk Festival, Hartford, CT First Night, the Farmer's Museum and Old Bethpage Restoration. His performances for children combine music (vocal, guitar, harmonica and fiddle) with painted masks and props of his own creation which the audience members get to use to engage in role playing onstage. Tom's motto is 'Real music for real people'. The music on his 'Musical Menagerie' CD is highly appealing to youngsters and at the same time musically vital enough to be enjoyed by more sophisticated listeners. The well known critic, Nat Hentoff, has referred to the music for adults that Tom made with singer songwriter, Kath Bloom, and guitarist,Loren Mazzacane, as 'The real thing-art without artifice...' Tom and Kath have recorded and performed music for children and for adults as 'Love at Work'
