This CD all started as part of a music lesson: I was teaching one of my friend's kids (age 5) and I asked him what he wanted to do for his lesson, and he told me 'Let's write a song!' I asked him what he wanted to write a song about, and he said 'Let's write a song about my younger brother.' I asked him, 'What does your little brother like to do?' 'Eat honey from a jar with a spoon,' he said, and Honey Boy Star was born! We then wrote a song about his dog Libby, and I had so much fun working with these boys and their dog, it was the most joyful project out of all the albums and CDs that I have recorded and worked on. The last two songs: The Night the Tree Fell and It's Beddy Time were inspired by these boys' family and their rural lives. I am usually hired to record on other people's music: high pressure situations, high end recording studios. This project was a pure-joy experience, playing pretty much everything and recording it, and bringing in musician friends to play on parts, and be on my own time table. Rob Fordyce is a performing bass player who has played with many different artists, some famous, some not... Lenny Williams John Hartman, Sam Andrew, Gigi Gonaway, to name drop a few. Currently I am playing with the Tom Finch Group, and the Ring (both groups have albums up on CD Baby).
