Michael Katzman is a songwriter and music teacher in Westchester county, NY. He has been teaching music for ten years in the Boston, Massachusetts, Yonkers and Croton, NY public schools. Michael and his wife have a son Sam and a West Highland Terrier named Fergus, who makes his recording debut on 'Laugh and Play'. Laugh and Play came about out of a desire to write new, original children's music that would entertain both children and their parents and provide the means for them to share the experience of singing and listening together. My parents and grandparents had played music to me as a small child and I'm sure that played a large part in my love for music. I had been a songwriter for a number of years, but the impetus for this project came when a kindergarten teacher asked me if I could teach her students some songs that would help develop basic counting skills. I decided to write one myself with 'I Can Count to Ten' being the result. The children and the teachers both enjoyed it and with that I was hooked! A few more followed and then when my son Sam was born I was inspired to write many more that my wife and I could sing and enjoy with him. I hope you and your family enjoy it as well.
