Liz Joyce is an artist with a traditional, Old World approach to puppetry. Though sometimes fusing with the abstract and insane to produce adult puppet theatre, she is content to delight younger audiences as well. During the past 15 years, Miss Joyce has toured the East Coast with her one-woman puppet company for children and recently settled in Sag Harbor, New York where she is Founder and Artistic Director for Goat on a Boat puppet Theatre. She has served as President of the Puppetry Guild of Greater New York. Joyce has also been a participant in the Puppet Lab at Arts at St. Ann's where several of her adult performances have been produced. She has curated events and performed during the 2000 Henson International Festival of Puppet Theatre. Ms. Joyce has been awarded grants from The Puppeteers of America's Endowment Fund and the Jim Henson Foundation. Recently, Liz's puppet operetta Sing a Song of Sixpence was awarded an UNIMA Citation.
