My name is Lilia Mareski, and I am a bilingual teacher currently practicing in Southeast Michigan. I received my degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in bilingual education at Stephen F. Austin in Texas. I have been an educator since 1988. I taught in the elementary classroom for seven years, and have been teaching Spanish classes to children since 1998. I learned to speak Spanish as a child. My mother is from Mexico and my father is from Cuba. Spanish was the native tongue for both of my parents, therefore, it was always spoken in the home. I was born in Mexico City but lived in Texas until 1996. In 1997 I moved to Michigan. I decided to make a bilingual Spanish sing-along CD along with my six-year-old daughter to teach the curriculum that I target in my local Spanish classes. Since I am a mother of four, my time is very limited. By producing Ms. Lily's Spanish Sing-Along I and II, I am able to teach students who are unable to attend my Spanish classes. It also allows me to reinforce the Spanish language when students are not in my classroom setting. The CD is appropriate for all ages.
