Itty Bitty Ditties for the New Baby includes 13 original songs written by Kathryn Leigh Kirt, a singer/songwriter who lives and sings in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The songs are performed by Kathryn with a lot of help from friends and family members. The guitar player is her brother-in-law Nathan Guilford from Oklahoma City. The singers include Kathryn's father-in-law Bill Morris of Houston, Texas, her neice Siri Peterson from St. Paul, Minnesota, and her singing partner Elizabeth Thompson from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Last but definitely not least is Faith Hart, Elizabeth's daughter who was six years old at the time of the recording. She masterfully handles all of the speaking parts. The songs were inspired by the experience of being a new mom, and they focus on things that a baby does everyday. New parents will have no problem relating to songs such as "I Love Milk, Yes I Do!" and "Three Wet Wipe Mess." Some of these songs are easy enough for a toddler to sing, and Kathryn hopes that the whole family will join in and sing to the new baby! Singing can help parents, siblings, and babies feel calm and happy. Now that is a dream come true. Here's what new moms say about Itty Bitty Ditties: 'Guy Xavier and I love to listen to Itty Bitty Ditties and sing along (well, he tries :). We have played it since he was only a few months old, and he still lights up when he hears the first song. The songs are fun, silly, and short enough to be instantly memorable. The CD has made a big impression on our family and we have shared it with many friends. We're listening right now -- 4th play of the CD at Guy's request -- and he is tapping his foot. Ah, now it has ended and the thumb sucking has begun. Off to bed for him!' Stephanie Arnold de Verges 'Itty Bitty Ditties is Sam's favorite CD, and I can't get him to take it out of his sing along CD player. He knows all the words - especially to "I Love Milk, Yes I Do!" It's his favorite song.' Shelly Capehart "Kathryn Kirt's CD, 'Itty Bitty Ditties' is absolutely delightful! Each song has a catchy tune and is fun to listen to. Some of the songs are bound to make new mommies giggle." Julie M. Agro 'The children's music of Kathryn Kirt is upbeat and fun. 'Please, Please, Pretty Please' is simple, straightforward, and catchy. Our whole family chimes into the song when someone needs promoting to be polite.' Kim Rolston.
