John Moffett has been a professional musician for over thirty five years and is retired from active duty after 30 years in the United States Army. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (summa cum laude) from Saint Leo University and a Master of Arts degree in Urban Education (with an emphasis on School Counseling) from Norfolk State University. In 2006 he was selected as the Virginia School Graduate Counselor of the Year for Norfolk State University. Encouraged by a professor at Norfolk State, John started writing music as part of a presentation for the annual convention of the Virginia School Counselors Association. Based on the enthusiastic reception given his program at this and several subsequent state and national presentations, he decided to form Moffett Educational Resources and concentrate on providing quality children's music that not only entertains, but also educates and motivates. In addition to being adept at composing his fun and accessible music, written as much for adults as for children, John is an energetic and engaging performer and presenter as well. John lives near the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia with his wife of 38 years and their two Labradoodle dogs.
