Good Dog is an Alaskan musical duo that sings original nature songs for kids. Their first CD, entitled Tunes From The Tides, features 11 original songs inspired by the marine environment. "Sharing the beauty of the natural world around us is something I've tried to do in many different ways throughout my career-writing songs for kids is the most satisfying way I've discovered yet," says Pfeiffenberger. The songs are performed by Pfeiffenberger and vocalist Liesl Davenport-Wheeler. Their style emphasizes tight vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation. "One of our goals is to make music that adults enjoy as well as kids. If the kids like it, they'll want to hear it over and over again, so it better sound good to the parents, too!" Some of the tracks feature guest musicians, such as percussionist Jon Damberg on marimba and drums, San Francisco picker Dix Bruce on mandolin and Grammy-winning guitarist Jim Nunally. Here's what people are saying about Good Dog's music: Steve F, father of two, "I love your album. I've already bought two....Keep up the good work....I can't say enough positive things about your album." Amy Haddow, Director of Education, Alaska SeaLife Center and mother of two, "This is the best new music for children that I've heard in years! The songs are so catchy that the first time kids listen to the CD, they start singing along by the second verse. Lots of good, educational information on marine science lies at the heart of the songs, making this CD a great tool for interdisciplinary learning ." John and Laurie, parents of one, "Thank you so much for.... "Tunes From The Tides." It quickly became a family favorite. The songs are clever and catchy. Moreover, they convey great themes about respect for wildlife and the environment while also imparting valuable messages about life."
