Geff Crawford has played and sung music with elementary age school kids almost every school day for over 30 years. Mixing old favorites with quirky, newer treasures, this album also includes several of Geff's original kids' songs (rather irreverent ones). Nothing sappy & sweet here (well, not too much), these songs are the ones that keep getting requested - even by teenagers, parents, and those oh-so-hard-to-please 6th graders! Retired after teaching kindergarten & first grade for 32 years, Geff has been playing music and singing for even longer - guitar, fiddle, banjo, jaw harp, autoharp - they're all on this CD. No electric guitar, drums, or rock and roll - this is all acoustic, all traditional. His singing voice has a perfect old-timey sound, and he knows more tunes than a porcupine has quills, and he knows what kids like. A native of northern California, he has studied and jammed with master musicians such as Melvin Wine, Art Stamper, John Hartford, Tracy Schwartz, Clyde Davenport, Ewan MacColl, Peggy Seeger, and Tom Paley. Geff is a regular solo performer at the renowned Strawberry Music Festival, and also performs with his wife Masha Goodman Crawford as the duo 'Old Soles'.
