This Audio book, narrated in Spanish by it's author, is based on a published book of the same title "Rene y el pigmeo en la selva" (Editorial Norma, Mexico). The title means "Rene and the pygmy in the jungle". Rene is the name of a kid, an ordinary kid, neither the tallest, nor the shortest, neither skinny nor fatty, but when the occasion arises, he becomes as intrepid as any brave young character of any adventure story. And this story requires all his abilities as well as the skills of his friend, the pigmy, to find the salvation of a beautiful girl who fell sick because of the pollution of a river and needs to drink a Tea made with the leaves of an almost extinguished plant from the jungle. All characters in the CD have their own voices and personalities, and, don't forget, their own music theme. There is a lot of artistic work behind this project. This is a 74-minutes-long amazing story and sound landscape which will nourish the imagination of kids, young adults and adults alike. The author wonderfully narrates the story. She is Emma Romeu, the well known writer of literature for young adults and environmental journalism. Her work has been published in international magazines such as National Geographic, and by publishers such as Alfaguara and SM. Some of her books have been translated into English. Emma Romeu's books are available in the USA through Lectorum and Santillana USA. Titles: El Rey De Las Octavas/ The King of Octaves, The Bee Hummingbird (Animals of Americas), Here Comes The Grey Wolf (Animals of the Americas), My Manatee Friend (Animals of the Americas), The flamingo legs, Gregorio y el mar, Gregorio y el pirata (in Puerto Rico), etc. She has more than 100'000 books already sold! The music, sound design and engineering is of Alejandro N Rodriguez, a Cuban born sound engineer with more than 20 years of an international career in everything related with sound. He is now an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, teaching at the Music Production and Engineering Department. A long list of artists have been part of Rodriguez' career. To name a few: Compay Segundo and other Buenavista Social Club members, Molotov (from Grammy nominated film "Y tu mama tambien" music score), Chucho Valdes and Irakere, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Charlie Haden, Colombian Grupo Niche, Cuban singer/songwriters Silvio Rodriguez and Pablo Milanes, Andrew Lloyd Webber's "JesusChrist Superstar" Mexican Cast, Lucia Mendez, Armando Manzanero, Ricardo Arjona, Tania Libertad, Tonana, Rebeca Mauleon, Leo Blanco, etc. We hope you will enjoy this sonic adventure the same way the creators enjoyed making it. Disfrútenlo! Which means: Have fun!
