I have been singing for as long as I can remember. It's what I love to do! Even more than I love to sing, I love children. Put music and children together and you get something truly magical! Each song on my Make a Friend album has a story behind it, as they all came from special moments with my own children. For instance, I wrote 'A puppy is fun' after we got a brand new puppy for Christmas. My daughter, Catherine, was so excited to go to kindergarten. She kept asking me over and over and over again when she was going to go to Kindergarten, hence the song 'I Want to go to Kindergarten'. The song 'Butterfly' was inspired by my daughter, Mary Claire, when she was five years old. We wrote the song together when she was pretending to be a butterfly after learning about them in school. Rocking and singing my children to sleep has always been something I cherished. I made up the song 'Mommy's Here' when I was rocking my daughter, Lauren, to sleep one night. I just had my ninth child, Daniel, and I am looking forward to sharing such tender moments with him as well. Each one of my children (Michael, Andrew, Christopher, Mary Claire, James, Catherine, Lauren, Matthew, and Daniel) has played an important role in making this album, which is why it means so very much to me. I never really thought my songs would ever make it onto an actual album. I just sang for fun with my children. Thanks to my brother and Engineer, James Elliott, who encouraged me to record my songs, Ray Sabatello, who brought my melodies to life with his amazing arrangements, and the love and support from my wonderful husband, Chris, I am now able to share my songs with other children and their families.
