Bruce Birch was red-headed, left handed, and loved stories and singing when he was in school. 'My best class was when we went into the music room with our teacher and didn't do any 'learning' but just sang,'says Bruce. That exciting introduction to music in the school classroom, fit well with the music his brothers (and he had 6 of them) made at home. It was at home that Bruce learned to play guitar when he was about 12 years old. However, being that there was only one guitar and 7 boys who wanted to play it, Bruce had to learn to play it right-handed rather than left-handed. It was this fact that helped him develop his unique flat-picking style of guitar playing. He had dreams of being a rock star but it didn't happen. What did was better. He grew up remembering what it was like to be a kid! So rather than 'rocking,' Bruce practiced writing and singing about kids and for kids. He became a elementary teacher (popular with students and parents) who often got in 'trouble' for singing in the hallways. He believes music is one way to communicate ideas and truths and explore situations. Music is feelings-in your heart, and your head, and your legs and arms too! As Bruce states: 'If my music can make you feel, think, and dance, I will be very happy and consider what I do a success!' We invite you to have a listen and know you will agree with award winning children's entertainer: Charlotte Diamond, that these songs needed to be recorded. Kids and parents will both enjoy listening and singing along with the songs on this CD and teachers have said they love playing it their classroom. So, whether you are a child, a parent, or a teacher, if you want good, positive entertainment that both children AND ADULTS will enjoy, this CD is a must to own.
